Ideas Worth
Building

Corbett Works develops physical ideas with a clear reason to exist—from play systems and outdoor spaces to prototypes that test what comes next.

The premise

Build only what earns its place.

We start with observation, reduce an idea to its essential promise, and make the smallest honest version that can prove it. The goal is not more objects. It is better reasons to build them.

One frame, four stages

Evolve the system. Keep the frame.

The concept starts with one modular structure and changes what attaches to it as needs change. Instead of discarding the whole system, the frame is imagined as a lasting base for a new stage of use.

  1. 01

    Early play

    Ages 2–5

A low deck, sensory activities, a short slide, and a generous ramp imagine an approachable first configuration.

  2. 02

    Challenge play

    Ages 8–12

Climbing, traversing, hanging, and sliding add greater reach and difficulty while the primary frame remains in place.

  3. 03

    Organized sport

    Teens + team training

A hoop, bench, equipment storage, and agility layout recast the frame as a compact training and team space.

  4. 04

    Outdoor lounge

    Adult social space

Shade, seating, planting, light, and a shared table turn the same frame toward gathering and outdoor living.

Current fields

Three places to look closely.

A real playground with slides, climbing elements, and overhead play structures

01

Play systems

Modular structures that invite movement, imagination, and many kinds of participation—without treating play as an afterthought.

02

Outdoor living

Durable systems for gathering, resting, cooking, and making better use of the space just outside the door.

Prototypes

Physical tests that answer the questions drawings cannot—scale, feel, assembly, durability, and whether the idea deserves another round.

How ideas move

From hunch to evidence.

  1. 01

    Observe

Find the friction, unmet need, or overlooked possibility.

  2. 02

    Frame

Define one promise the idea must keep to be worth pursuing.

  3. 03

    Prototype

Make a focused version that exposes assumptions to the real world.

  4. 04

    Decide

Advance, reshape, license, partner, or stop—based on what was learned.
